Who We Are

Dennis and Jennifer have been married for 27 years and are blessed with 10 children. They also welcomed their first grandchild into the fold in February of 2024!

Dennis has moved from retail management to IT, to finance in the last 30 years. He uses all his skills from these careers in his position at Graceworks Ministries as Director of Business Administration and Finance.

Jennifer began homeschooling in 2001 and is still homeschooling today. She loves learning and teaching others.

In 2024, Dennis and Jennifer formed Restoring Roots Farm, LLC. Our goal for 2024 is two-fold.

1.) Divert 20 tons of waste from entering Tennessee's overburdened landfill.

2.) Increase our small worm farm as we create nutrient-dense compost & vermicompost to handle 50 tons of waste next year!

3) Have a booth at Nashville's Farmers Market.

What Drives Us

We learned how important healthy eating was through multiple health journeys.

Some of the health problems that we can personally attest to being improved by healthy eating include diseases like: IgA Neuropathy, Crohn's disease, Hidradenitis, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Endometriosis, and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome to more common medical conditions such as migraines, anemia hypertension, high cholesterol, irritable bowel, chronic fatigue, hair loss, attention deficit disorder, depression, and anxiety!

The cost of feeding a large family made purchasing healthy food from the grocery store a challenge so we started growing our own. We started small with sprouts and microgreens. A random jar or tray at a time as we were learning and trying to develop new habits turned into a full rack of regular greens.

I've had massive success with my sprouts and microgreens. I decided to try a few vegetables that can be grown in containers.

I did a little research, but mostly I wanted it to be as easy as microgreens. Outdoor gardening is not my cup of tea. I hate the heat, I hate kneeling in the dirt with bugs. I don't have the desire to add weeding and watering to my extensive daily task list.

I researched what plants would be easiest and ordered a couple of cheap grow bags. For soil, I used a bag of clearance garden soil purchased at the end of summer and mixed in some worm castings.

We had a worm bin that helped to break down kitchen waste and paper products before we started learning how to grow our own food. We had ready-made worm castings to use on our container plants. We've never had to use fertilizer.

We have a passion for healthy, home-grown food, worms (and the amazing black gold they make), and living a life that respects our Creator and all that He has given us.

We will never try to sell you something just to make a dollar. If it is a product we sell, you can rest assured that we have personally used it and recommend it.

We're constantly learning from a community of gardeners, worm farmers, and soil health enthusiasts. Their experiences and feedback help guide our product selection. ensuring we provide effective, natural solutions for building healthier soil.

We are family-owned and operated, and we love to build relationships with our customers. If you have a question, a story to share, or a product suggestion, please contact us at info@restoringrootsranch.com
